Homeowners Association

You may not realize it, but your association may be the only thing that protects the value of your home or the quality of our neighborhood.  Your association does a number of different things:

Think for a moment about why you bought your home in the first place.  You may have liked the curb appeal of your house or its floor plan, but you probably considered the neighborhood.   You bought the neighborhood at the same time you bought your house.  You bought a lifestyle and surroundings encompassing everything from the subdivision entries and all the other homes in the neighborhood, assuming it would stay the same.  Unfortunately, many subdivisions don’t remain as nice as when they were new.  A neighborhood can be well maintained or it can be allowed to fall apart.  The big difference between an attractive and an unattractive neighborhood does not really lie in the deed restrictions.  The crucial factor is the willingness of the volunteers who make up associations’ board of directors whose responsibility is to enforce the rules that are in place.  Residents of Prestonwood West do, indeed, need an association run and supported by all of us.

The HOA consists of 665 single-family residences and includes six sub-associations, each with its own board of directors, officers, rules, regulations and separate dues.  Each sub-association has one representative who sits on the master association board.  The six sub-associations and their number of homeowners are:

Courtyard Homes*

70 Homes

Greenway Homes 20 Homes

Lakes of Prestonwood West 24 Homes

Reflections West* 108 Homes

Village On Preston* 205 Homes

Village III* 50 Homes
Remaining homes West of Campbell 178 Homes

Total Homes 655 Homes

*Sub-associations east of Campbell Road – all zero-lot, single-family, one-and two-story patio homes, garden homes and town homes.

The remaining 178 homes residents are all dues-paying members of the Master Association but do not belong to any sub-association.

The Prestonwood West HOA governs and maintains the business affairs and common property that contributes to the overall ambiance and property values.  Through the assessment of homeowner dues, the association maintains the landscaping of common areas including the five monument signs that mark the entrances to the community.
